The Greater Waverly Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life within the community through advocacy, education, community engagement, and training and community development. Since organizing in 2003, the Foundation has continually supported various agencies, schools, churches, and families within the Greater Columbia area. Our commitment to the Greater Columbia area is through financial support, volunteer hours, educational programs and initiatives, and health care advocacy.

OUR VISION & MISSION

The Greater Waverly Foundation knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.

We are a non-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The vision for the Foundation was born out of the desire to extend beyond the physical walls of First Nazareth Baptist Church to minister and address the needs of the Greater Waverly community in Columbia, SC.

Back in 2002, our Nonprofit Organization realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch The Greater Waverly Foundation.

Our vision is to inspire good stewardship over the educational achievements of all children in the Greater Waverly Community; and the overall well-being of children, families, and the neighborhoods where they live.

Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles through education and training

using a holistic approach to individuals and families in Greater Waverly; and to work collaboratively with area organizations in addressing specific issues that impact our communities throughout the Midlands.

Conquering Food Insecurity

Our community service program shines a spotlight on how the issues of food insecurity and food deserts affect the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. Our partnership efforts seek to reverse the trend of readily accessible low-quality food, in the Greater Waverly Community and surrounding areas, by increasing access to affordable, nutritious food choices. Contact us to learn more about our commitment.
